We are searching for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join us as a Manufacturing Engineer in our Operations organization who will work to integrate the entire manufacturing process to support manned and unmanned, civil and military use of Piccolo Autopilot and TASE Imaging Systems. You will design, develop, install, monitor, document, and continuously improve the manufacturing processes including in process and final test requirements for flight control systems and stabilized imaging systems. This position encompasses new design and product sustaining support roles. The selected candidate will work closely with Production Technicians, Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and other Integrated Project Team members to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product's lifecycle. Responsibilities:
Technical Operations lead in all product lifecycle phases to assure design for manufacturing and assembly transition requirements are addressed. Full technical responsibility for planning, organizing, and conducting independent technical projects for the engineering support of manufacturing operations. Supports existing product line design activities and/or modification of operational processes to help enhance products and process ensuring that current and future business needs are met. Provides sustaining technical support and assistance to Manufacturing Technicians for both new builds and customer repairs Document Manufacturing requirements for design engineering and manufacturing in the project planning stages and periodically reporting status of completion to signal readiness to transition to full rate production Analyzes and modifies product designs in collaboration with Design Engineering to assure manufacturability Determines maintenance and repair materials required for repair and upgrades. Perform strategic make-or-buy analysis and present recommendations. Partner with supply chain in the design and monitoring of supply chain activities. Continuously improves facility layout, manufacturing process and test of products in full rate production to improve cycle time, product yield, and obtain cost reductions Act a mentor for team members in the organization Provide technical leadership and train team to diagnose and solve problems. Ensures required manufacturing equipment and tooling are available, documented, and maintained in operations. Provide with Capital Expense research and justification for recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials. Ensures compliance with all business and regulatory requirements including but not limited to Customer, EH&S, Quality, ISO, Customer. Other duties as required. Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations. Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder Preferred
Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to effectively facilitate cross functional interactions Ability to effectively communicate and work well with junior team members as well as with management Ability to effectively work independently and within an integrated product development (IPD) team environment Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner and produce detailed, clear and concise business and technical documentation Manufacturing engineering experience in a high technology company Knowledge of Electronics manufacturing and test processes (RF & Digital) Knowledge of Opto-Mechanical manufacturing and test processes Experience working with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, 3D printers, Thermal Chambers, Collimators, Analyzers, etc.).
