Sterile Processing Technician

Providence is calling a Sterile Processing Technician to Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, OR. This is a per diem / on-call position. You will be able to view and sign up for available shifts at least 1 month in advance. Our Sterile Processing Techs work 10 hour shifts with a varying start time between 6am-8am Mon-Fri. There is also a shift on Sundays from 7a-5:30pm.
In this position, you will:
Be responsible for the effective cleaning, inspection, maintenance, proper sterilization and distribution of sterile instrumentation and equipment.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure all supplies, instrumentation and equipment are available for surgical cases as well as other procedures requiring sterile supplies and/or instrumentation.
Be knowledgeable in sterile processing standard and serves as a patient safety advocate.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification, or a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) within 18 months of hire
1 year of healthcare experience, or successful completion of a sterile processing course
Experience using personal computer and basic software programs
Proficient at reading, writing, and speaking English
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
1 year of sterile processing experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
